Downland Dance offers a range of classes to suit all ages and abilities. All classes are held in a warm, friendly and professional atmosphere and are well planned to meet the individual needs of every student.
Our skilled RAD qualified teachers offer classes in the full spectrum of RAD grades. Exams are held regularly, to enable students to keep track of their progress.
Open classes follow no set syllabus and as such allow our expert teachers to dynamically tailor every exercise to best suit the needs of each class. We offer a range of open classes to suit every dancer’s needs and we highly recommend that all students of RAD grade 2 or higher attend to ensure fast and consistent progress. Floor barre is used by professional dancers worldwide as a method of strengthening and increasing flexibility in the muscles that they rely on most for a good dance technique. It is the ultimate supplement to dance training, and the high result- low impact nature of a floor barre makes it an excellent choice for people who would like to build strength and flexibility without over-exerting the body.
Downland Dance is proud to introduce a partnership with Melissa Wells, who will be offering yoga classes to our students and alumni. Yoga aids dancers in giving them a deeper understanding of the healthiest body posture for dance as well as building strength in the essential core muscles which help dancers to gain stability in their work.
Private lessons are the ideal class setting for anyone who really wants to make fast progress in their work. We offer private lessons with our resident professional dancer, Laura Houghton, and you can arrange one by contacting Laura directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
