Our skilled RAD qualified teachers offer classes in the full spectrum of RAD grades, including vocational grades. Downland Dance teachers are skilled at setting their own exercises, which gives them the ability to tailor their open classes to the individual needs of every student. Open classes are perfect for supplementing your RAD work, as a tool to boost your technique in the build up to an exam, or as a training method all on their own. We are confident that we have an open class to suit almost every student.

PBT is an internationally recognised body-conditioning and strengthening programme. It has been specifically designed for ballet dancers, by ballet dancers and physiotherapists, and works on the principle of muscle memory, which helps to improve students’ understanding of core stability, weight placement and alignment.

Contemporary classes allow dancers to enjoy the feeling of freedom within their movement. The emphasis is on releasing your body to discover the way it moves, learning the feeling of being ‘grounded’, and using all available space around you. These are fun and dynamic classes in their own right, or a useful tool for ballet dancers to improve their movement vocabulary and grow as dancers.

We are pleased to offer virtual private lessons with our Artistic Director. These may be suitable for you if you are interested in private lessons but perhaps don’t have the time to come into the studio, or if you would just like to work directly with Adam.
