From 1st February 2023, Downland Dance are excited to be launching their Achievers Club – a special club for our hardest working and most enthusiastic dancers! The club is for talented dancers between the ages of 11 and 18 who demonstrate both technical potential in their normal classes, as well as the right work ethic to become a great dancer. It won’t be easy to join the club however, as membership is offered by invitation only.

Dancers in the club will meet once per week, on a Saturday morning, where they will work on technically advanced steps, and learn how to build a dancer’s mentality. The small class size will ensure that each dancer has less distractions during the focused class, and more individual attention.

The achievers club is for dancers who we think show great potential in their dancing. It is a place for dancers to access our highest level of training, so that they can become the best dancer they can be. We want to instill a confident ability in our club dancers, so that if they one day decide they’d like to try for a vocational dance school, they will be as prepared as possible.

Achievers club dancers will also act as representatives for the school, so they will be the first we call upon to enter for external competitions, festivals, performances, and events.

The achievers club class will be taught by Maryna Yegorova, and launch on Saturday 4th February, at Sutton Courtenay Village Hall, from 10.45am – 12.15pm. We would expect our club class dancers to attend their new club class, as well as their usual Saturday dance classes, as the new class is designed to boost their ability and not replace their current classes. This works by intensifying the amount of dance they do in a day, and increasing the goals they are working towards.

There will be a £15 monthly premium to be a member of the new club class, and this includes a free Club Class hoody*.

How do you gain access to the new class? Simply continue to do your best in classes, and our teachers will begin referring those who stand out straight away. We will contact those we’d like to invite from the launch within the next few weeks, but new members can be invited at any time, so always continue to do your best.

We’re looking forward to launching the new class, and seeing just how much our achievers can achieve!
