It has now been 5 years since Downland Dance’s ownership changed hands, and has since been run by father and son team Jim and Adam Harris. During that time, we at Downland Dance have worked hard to continue to offer the highest quality dance training, at a fair and competitive price, and we have introduced the subscription model of class fee payments to simplify the process of paying for classes, and to spread out the school term’s fees into manageable monthly payments. We continue to work on fresh ideas to build a strong, successful and sustainable school.
Inevitably, however, we face a continual headwind of rising costs, much of which is associated to the essential costs of dance school ownership, such as studio rent, energy costs, and of course the ‘hidden’ essentials, such as insurance, music licencing etc.
After much consideration, Downland Dance now feels that in order that the School remain viable, we need to impose an increase in class fees.
We felt it unfair to impose this immediately, and give our community a respectable period of notice, and therefore, we have decided that:
PAYG class fees will increase from Monday 20th February, 2023, (just after half term).
Subscription class fees will increase from 1st March 2023 by 10%.
Our new fee schedule is available to view here, and also contains revised class options available for subscribers choosing only 1 class per week.
For those that pay using the Downland Dance subscription system, your direct debit will automatically increase for any payments accessed on or after 1/3/2023. Those attending our PAYG classes will see the increased fee reflected in their invoices as they are delivered after 20th February 2023.
We hope that our Members will understand the need to raise fees in order for us to meet our rising costs, and will continue to support the school, support which we value very much.
We have some exciting developments in mind at Downland Dance, and we hope very much that you will continue to be a part of our community.
